Board Certified Pulmonologist Jonathan D. Altus, M.D., FCCP, practices Pulmonary Medicine in Nassau County on the South Shore of Long Island, at 920 Atlantic Avenue in Baldwin Harbor, New York 11510. Dr. Altus is also Board-Certified in Palliative Care and Internal Medicine.
He serves as an Attending Physician and Co-Chair of Mt. Sinai South Nassau’s Pulmonary Disease Management Committee. Dr. Altus previously served as Director of the facility’s Respiratory Care Unit and Co-Chief of the Critical Care Division of Internal Medicine. He also holds a HEC-C certificate (Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified) and is Co-Chair of the Mount Sinai South Nassau Ethics Committee.

A Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Dr. Altus serves on the Core Faculty of Mt. Sinai South Nassau’s Internal Medicine Residency Program and as a Member of the Clinical Competency Committee of Internal Medicine Program.
Dr. Altus received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his medical degree from State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He completed his medical internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, New York City, and he completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at New York University Medical Center, also in Manhattan.
Dr. Altus has a proven commitment to the important field of Medical Bio-Ethics, and he holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Bio-Ethics from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.
